Jo Mistinguett

I'm currently putting together an article about emerging female bands and soloists for the GIRLS/BIRTHDAY issue of Groupie which will be out early August, and one of the chicks I think we'll be profiling is Brazillian artist Jo Mistinguett.

I'm not sure if her name is a homage to the French actress, or if its actually her name, or something else entirely... I'll let you know once I've asked her! Like many Brazilian dance acts, she layers quite heavy rock riffs under baile funk and electro sounds. I first came across her stuff when Database remixed her tune Personal Fuck a few months ago.
