Esau Mwamwaya

Two months ago Esau Mwamwaya was The Fader magazine's cover star for their Africa issue. If you read the interview, you'll be familiar with the East African born MC Producer. He relocated from Malawi to London in 1999 and opened a second-hand furniture store. It was here he met uber producers Radioclit - their studio is down the road from his store in London, and after buying a second-hand bike, Mwamwaya decided to invite them to a house party. Done and dusted.

Mwamwaya has been working on his debut release, collaborating with Ezra Koenig and Ryan McPhun among notable others, and has just released a 'making of' video on You Tube. Have a watch, you'll probably recognise his 'Paper Planes' cover along with a few other samples that have been floating around on the net for a while, and the wonderful Ezra moment.

And just because, here's his take on Architecture In Helsinki

Radioclit were in Sydney earlier in the year and gave Sydney Sounder a brief heads up on the Esau album. Read it here. They are also looking for a designer to create the entire Esau campaign! Sound like something you'd be interested in?
